Job Summary !

NP coverage in both the IMCU and the SICU

Responsibilities

Conduct multidisciplinary rounds daily.

Document daily patient progress in chart.

Order therapeutic interventions and appropriate medications for patient conditions in consult with attending physicians.

In collaboration with the attending physician with create admission order sets and discharge order sets for patient with post-surgical care.

Develops outcome measures for care process improvement.

Performs advance clinical procedures to include but not limited to Chest tube placement and removal, central line placement, arterial line placement, fluoroscopic guided small feeding tube placement.

Collaborates with medical director and nurse manager to develop and evaluation plan for interdisciplinary protocols/standard order sets and practice changes.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in ! the State of Utah. Nationally certified as a Nurse Practitione! r as required under State Law. Certification in ACLS / BLS / NRP / ATLS may be required by your department or by privileging criteria. Demonstrated clinical competence and in-depth knowledge of specialty area; and demonstrated leadership, teaching, research and communication skills are required.

Licensure is obtained by completing a Master’s degree in Nursing or equivalency (the only equivalency to the Master’s degree is current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner) and a National Certification which requires the successful completion of a nationally accredited examination. UHPPM 1-56 requires that newly hired non-physician providers apply for credentialing and privileging at the time of hire.
