Eagle Air Med is seeking highly motivated Flight Nurses for our fixed-wing and rotor-wing operations in the Four Corners area. Starting salary is approximately $90,000 on independent statu! s plus $30 per diem for floating.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
3 years recent critical care experience Current ACLS, PALS, BLS Advanced trauma course certifications Obtain UT license or compact state license Must be able to lift 50lbs and maintain a duty weight of less than 215lbs fully suited
Preferred Qualifications
CEN, CFRN, or CCRN Flight experience
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain standards of safety for patients and crew. Provide basic and advanced patient care prior to and during transport. Provide compassionate and efficient patient care. Respond to hospital/airport within 20 minutes of time of page at all times when on-call. Acquire and maintain extensive ! working knowledge of company protocols, procedures, and guidel! ines. Adhere to all standards of safety. Report any unsafe conditions and/or actions immediately. Follow all state and federal laws. Acquire and maintain strong knowledge base in critical care practice including emergency stabilization, ICU inter-hospital intervention, and management of specific aero medical problems in flight. Knowledge of applicable sections of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. Maintain knowledge of applicable accreditation standards. Review available information on patient status and consult with a physician as appropriate. Select and prepare special equipment for transport according to patient needs and aircraft used. Responsible for checking bags, equipment, and aircraft prior to departure. After transfer of patient is complete, restock flight bags and aircraft. Equipment must be cleaned and maintained and ready for further flights. Immediately report any equipment and/or patient management problems to the Base Manager and/or Chief! Flight Nurse. Complete flight records, QA documents, and trauma registry if appropriate in a timely manner. Participate in debriefing meeting with Medical Director, Chief Flight Nurse, and other staff as appropriate when requested. On arriving at referring site, introduce transport personnel; assist with stabilization procedures and preparation of the patient for flight. Compile necessary documents/data to be transported with the patient. Assist in additional patient care as required on arrival to the receiving hospital. All records and reports are transferred to receiving personnel. Responsible for monthly bag checks as assigned. Must be available as scheduled, fulfilling all flight duties. Compliance with drug/alcohol free workplace policy. This includes no drug/alcohol use 8 hours prior to and during all on-call assignments. Make recommendations for safety improvement, quality improvement, job satisfaction and overall service improvement. Attend monthly staff meetings w! hen on duty or as requested. Participation in staff meetings when off-d! uty is encouraged. Carry a cell phone or pager, while on duty, to be notified of flights. Attend all scheduled flight team meetings and classes as requested. Participate in teaching and training of new employees. Participate in public education programs and public relations functions. Other duties as assigned and required by your manager(s).
