Job Summary

The Emma Eccles Jones Research Center at the College of Nursing is recruiting for the position of Research Innovations Teams (RITe) Research Associate. The successful candidate will facilitate the advancement of the RITe Research Initiative. RITe Teams are composed of diverse investigators with a coherent, synergistic theme. They have a range of expertise allowing them to develop creative approaches to scientific problems.

Responsibilities

Working independently under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the functions of collaborative research teams. Manages timeline and day to day processes for the advancement of research projects for those research teams.

The essential functions of this position include:
1. As an integral member of the assigned research teams, leads the administrative processes necessary for the successful completion and delivery of research projects.

2. Takes initiative to establish cooperative and collaborative community and institutional relationships.

3. Proactive in coordinating the functions of research teams for the successful submission of proposals for external funding. Interpret proposal application guidelines and proactively manage processes required to obtain necessary data and information.

4. Manages the proposal submission process and assists research teams with the preparation of those proposals. This will include determining research procedures and preparing sponsor and UU documents.

5. Apply project management skills to ensure research team timelines and goals are met with minimal supervision from team leader.

6. Responsible for resolving any issues that arise with the execution of the research program and maintain working relationships with program partners.

7. Maintain professional working relationships with various stakeholders both internal and external to the College of Nursing in order to obtain data and statistics required for their successful application to the research enterprise.

8. Manage project initiation and required reporting to intramural agencies such as IRB and OSP , as well as extramural sponsoring agencies. Manage regulatory and research correspondence and documents. Provide insight and oversight for the regulatory compliance of research projects.

9. Prioritize assigned personal workload with minimal supervision to manage competing deadlines. Prioritize team workload to manage competing deadlines. Proactively informs PI and team leaders of timeline issues and how they will be addressed.

10. Participate as a member of the research enterprise core support team. Report directly to the Director of Grants and Contracts and is responsible to research team leaders. Must be able to work as an integral team member for the delivery of services.

11. Support the activities of a Consortium organized and overseen by the team leaders.

12. Develop and archive proposal preparation resources for future use.

13. Complete all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

BachelorĂ¢€™s Degree in related field or equivalency, MasterĂ¢€™s Degree preferred.

Four years of related experience with progressively increasing responsibility.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills.

Functions effectively as a team member; project management experience preferred.

Strong coordination and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Previous experience in higher education setting preferred.

Experience in preparing proposals for external funding (particularly those to the National Institutes of Health), academic documents, and/or publications.

Technical writing and editorial expertise strongly preferred.
