Here is an opportunity to travel throughout the State of Utah and a rare opportunity for a Registered Nurse to get away from the stressful shift work. This position offers four, ten hour work days, with weekends and holidays off .

The Utah Department of Health, Bureau of Health Facility Licensing and Certification is seeking quality conscious Registered Nurses to ensure, through an on-site inspection process, the quality of care and life of individuals residing in long term care facilities.
JOB DESCRIPTION
You will ensure, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care inspection team, the provider is able to meet the standards of practice for health care services in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, and rules, This is a regulatory position where you will use conflict management skills and investigation techniques to interpret state and federal statutory requirements. You will not be providing direct patient care. For this position you must be a currently licensed Registered Nurse in good standing with the State of Utah or be licensed in a state with which Utah has an agreement.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES
As a valued member of our team you will be :

  • Acting as source of information for the provider during the on-site inspection process.
  • Assisting with the development and presentation of training provided to co-workers, care recipients, health service providers, and other customers.
  • Acting as an expert witness during administrative or legal proceedings.
  • Receiving, researching, and responding to incoming questions or complaints in a manner that facilitates a resolution.

  • An ability to project a confident, pleasant, and helpful demeanor in stressful situations.
  • Strong time management skills and workload adaptability requiring limited supervision.
  • An ability to use automated software applications.

The following experience or skills may be of benefit to you, but the absence of them will not, in any way, exclude you from consideration.
  • Health care facility inspection.
  • Inspections that are held to a federal or state standard.

  • Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
  • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
  • Current RN licensure in good standing without restrictions is required
  • Occasional in state, out of state, overnight and weekend travel may be required.
