POSITION PURPOSE - Adjunct Faculty members are committed to upholding the mission of the College by providing the highest level of instruction to the students. Adjunct Faculty members are responsible for advising students within their program of instruction and assisting the Academic Department in the revision, development, and implementation of programs and curricula. All faculty members are expected to support and uphold the Collegeâs policies, procedures, and objectives within the clinical setting.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions
EXPERIENCE - Must meet EGCG, ABHES and CCNE qualifications. Credentials must be verified before the faculty member teaches a course.
EDUCATION - BSN required, masterâs degree in nursing preferred
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS - Unencumbered Professional Nurse licensure required.
COMPUTER/OFFICE EQUIPMENT SKILLS - Ability to utilize computer and technology associated with grading assignments associated with the clinical learning experience.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS - Strong interpersonal skills. An ability to relate to students of diverse backgrounds and experiences. Willingness to get to know every student by name and support student success.
LANGUAGE SKILLS - Must have the ability to read, understand and carry out instructions in English in written and oral form.
OTHER SKILLS - Clinical knowledge and skills required to oversee BSN students in a variety of clinical settings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - To be effective, an individual must be able to perform the following job duties successfully.
Attend clinical faculty training and orientation.
Maintain required immunizations for clinical sites
For each course taught, follow course syllabus meeting course outcomes and stated competencies.
Ensure that students have attained minimum clinical course competencies as described in the course syllabus.
Come to clinical prepared to meet daily and weekly outcomes and competencies through clinical experiences.
Begin clinical on time in the designated space and provide an entire period of instruction for each class.
Keep accurate attendance records, submitting attendance to office manager in a timely manner.
Compile, administer, and assist with grading assignments in a timely manner and returns all items gathered from students.
Actively work to maintain attrition standards for the course and campus.
Maintain a faculty development plan with the assistance of academic administration.
Attend campus faculty meetings, faculty development training, and other meetings as assigned.
Make recommendations and adhere to the Academic Freedom policy as outlined in the Faculty handbook.
Perform other duties designated by the Program Administrator.
Responsible Employee as it pertains to CLERY.
