Position Overview: The Software Engineering Team Lead is responsible for leading a group of developers in creating, implementing and maintaining a variety of software services and applications.
Responsibilities: Effectively lead and delegate development tasks within the team. Mentor, coach, lead and motivate team members to learn new skills, and complete development tasks with a high level of quality. Follow! and mentor the Agile / XP development methodologies within th! e group. Cooperate with business user groups and business leaders to implement new software features.
Ensure proper development of service-oriented, cross-platform compatible code, optimizing data exchanges and improving code performance. Drive quality improvement and establish metrics for the assigned platform’s code base. Troubleshoot production platform issues and working effectively with other team members to identify and address problems. Estimate and meet assigned development goals and target delivery dates.
Proactively engage with business user and IT teams to ensure business goals are met. May need to work occasional off hours/weekends to support 24/7 production systems when on call. Some business travel may be required. Required Experience and Skills: Must have a Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science or other engineering/scientific field preferred) or equivalent work experience Must have 5+ years’ experience with C# programming in an n-tier en! vironment.
Must have 3+ years MS SQL experience. Must have experience leading software engineers and software development projects. Must have the ability to direct team members and third-party partners with diverse interests and skill sets. Must be independently motivated, proactive, and focused on timely task completion.
Must have understanding of object oriented design and experience using proven design patterns. Must have analytical ability and quickly learn new skills and systems. Must have high standard of customer service, quality, and attention to detail. Must have ability to collaborate and work well with others in a technology team environment.
Experience with WCF, Web API, and/or REST development is highly preferred. Experience with ASP.NET / MVC and WPF is highly preferred. Experience integrating with third party and external systems is highly preferred. Experience leading software development teams using Agile methodologies is a plus. !
Experience designing and developing interdependent, loosely-co! upled, enterprise systems is a plus. Experience with cloud-hosted services (Azure, Amazon Web Services), linux development, and mobile client development (iOS, Android) is a plus.
