Unique opportunity to join the Developmental Team that works in the Newborn ICU and Nursery at Intermountain Medical Cen! ter as well as the newborn nursery at LDS Hospital, Riverton Hospital and Alta View Hospital. The Physical Therapist (P.T.) provides an important role in the development of premature and medically fragile infants. Their role trains an infants movements and developmental behaviors to prevent future problems and to offer comfort to infants in the NICU environment.

A Physical Therapist (P.T.) coordinates with other health care professionals working towards Intermountain HealthcareĆ¢€™s healing commitment to produce the best possible outcomes for patients. A Physical Therapist is an essential part of the healing team that is engaged in the process of evaluating and treating patients. They design, implement and continuously modify and adapt Physical Therapy programs for each patient according to assessments and goals desired. They educate patients and families regarding proper rehab methods and techniques. They are able to have a positive impact and make a difference to ! those they serve.

This is an ideal position for a Phy! sical Therapist with advanced knowledge and skills in neonatal care. Seeking a candidate with at least one year of experience treating newborns and pediatrics, 0 to 3 years of age. This is also an ideal career progression for those Physical Therapists that have prior experience with a community early intervention program treating infants and pediatrics birth to 3 years of age.

The P.T. is based at Intermountain Medical Center but must be willing to travel to other Intermountain facilities in the Salt Lake Valley to provide treatment. Must be flexible to teach parent classes in the evenings as needed and work occasional weekend hours to provide treatment for infants. Hours vary slightly as PTs meet with the Nurses during shifts changes.

Entry Rate: $29.68, commensurate with experience
Benefits Eligible: Yes
Shift Details: Full-time position working 36 hours per week . Shifts vary, but are typically Monday through Friday. 8:00 a.! m. to 6:00 p.m. Flexibility is required in scheduling to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Department: NICU at Intermountain Medical Center, but travel to other Intermountain facilities in the Salt Lake valley required

Minimum Requirements

Current Physical Therapist license in the state of Utah or license eligible

This position requires verifiable current Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR certification. An original card must be verified prior to start date or the job offer will be withdrawn. For additional information regarding CPR requirements please visit our Job Requirements Page .

Basic computer skills including word processing and email

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

Willing to travel to various Intermountain facilities in the Salt Lake Valley

Excellent communication skills

Must demonstrate the ability to assess patient information and make appropriate recommendations
