Incumbents in this job perform a full range of nursing tasks in a variety of settings and with a variety of patient groups and care providers. Incumbent exercises independent professional discretion based on licensure in general duty settings and clinical nursing settings for the Utah Department of Corrections. Incumbent may also direct/supervise medical staff.
Successful candidates will possess: â€" competency with medication administration to include various routes including injections and IV â€" supervision of unlicensed assist personnel â€" competent with patient assessment â€" competent with communication of information to provider â€" competent in documentation in an electronic medical record â€" a solid understanding of principles, theories, and practices of nursing â€" the! ability to follow and apply treatment plans developed by a li! censed professional â€" an understanding of first aid and CPR â€" a knowledge of proper care to patients
