The Specialty Hospital provides advanced long-term acute care, including high observation/critical care, for patients who require time to heal from catastrophic injury or illness.We are currently seeking a full time Quality Compliance Nurse to join our Nursing Administration team. The Quality Compliance Nurse is responsible for the infection control and wound care coordination.
This position is additionally responsible for the Medical Staff coordination (professional practice evaluation, credentialing, and medical staff project data collection); patient satisfaction data analysis; following-up on incident reports and analysis; participating in the root cause analysis; participating in performance improvement teams; and assisting in coordinating the Quality Council, Medical Executive Committee, and Governing Body committees.JOB FUNCTIONS:â¢Oversees the Wound Care Program and the team.â¢Liaison between wound care physician and the team.â¢Oversees the Infection Control Program.â¢Obtains education and training in Infection Control through participation in internal and/or external education programs.â¢Completes an annual risk assessment, plan update, and develops measures related to the Infection Control Program. â¢Demonstrates and maintains knowledge of infection control processes by utilizing CDC as the basis of this knowledge.â¢Collects, aggregates, and analyzes data regarding patient satisfaction measures and presents information both in written and graph methods. â¢Ensures data is submitted to internal and external databases as required by accreditation and regulatory agencies.â¢Facilitates the investigation of and follows-up on grievances. Meets timelines associated with grievances, as outlined in the hospital policy.â¢Ensures the completion of professional practice evaluation tool with inclusion of all practitioners with activity in the aggregated data.â¢Reviews all incident reports.
Directs reports to the appropriate department leader for additional information and follow-up. â¢Recommends closure to the Director of Compliance and/or Area Director of Compliance.â¢Reviews legal medical record requests and provides summary to determine potential risk of litigation to the Director of Compliance and/or Area Director of Compliance. Initiates notice of potential claim, if indicated.â¢Assists in the facilitation, completion and follow-up of the root cause analysis.
