Retired English professor with C-2/C-3 spinal injury requiring 24/7 care at home. He is alert, intellectually stimulating and a very interesting person. Position for three 12 hours night shifts available.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Performing ADL's, vital signs, physical assessment.
- Medication administration.
- Passive and active range of motion; supplemental physical and occupational therapy.
- Tracheotomy care and suctioning.
- Airway clearance and other respiratory care.
- Catheterization and bowel care.
- Transportation to appointments, outings, musical and social events.
- Some light house work.
- Assisting with computer and sound projection for classes taught at home by patient.
Medical, respiratory and or nursing experience; students welcome. CNA, EMT or paramedic, OT or PT and others. Training provided.
Salary commensurate with training and experience and skills.
Great experience for pre-med, nursing and respiratory students to get hands on in pleasant and stimulating environment. Ideal for experienced caregivers seeking meaningful work outside of an institution.
