Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Avalon Health Care is seeking a Program Coordinator to
manage and support CNA classes within our facilities.

  • The Program Coordinator supervises and ensures the
NATCEP is following all Federal, Stat e and UNAR
rules, regulations, policies and procedures. The PC
will coordinate curriculum and academic resource
development, evaluation, and revision as needed.
  • The Program Coordinator will ensure successful
initial program approval through UNAR for each
location requested by Avalon. The Program
Coordinator must be present for and ensure that the
onsite review is completed every two years and a
self-evaluation review is completed in the year
opposite the onsite review.
  • The Program Coordinator is responsible to maintain
and update all records for each site review.
  • The Program Coordinator must ensure that all
instructors are current in their licensure and kept
on file at the program site for review by the UNAR
Director.
  • The Program Coordinator ensures that each Instructor
has completed an approved “Train the Trainer” prior
to UNAR appr oval of the NATCEP, and all new
instructors must complete a “Train the Trainer”
course prior to teaching in an approved CNA program.
The PC will be responsible for hiring, training,
evaluating, and retaining qualified instructors.
  • The Program Coordinator ensures that all clinical
time is directly supervised by a licensed nurse. The
PC must regularly observe and evaluate clinical as
well as classroom instruction by each instructor to
ensure the highest quality instruction is being
offered.
  • The Program Coordinator is responsible to forward
all required information to the UNAR.
  • The Program Coordinator must ensure that the UNAR is
notified prior to any changes in personnel or
location of NATCEP.
  • The Program Coordinator is responsible for
communicating with each Avalon facility including
the Executive Director, DON, and Staffing
Coordinat or in regards to current or potential
employee progress in the program, scheduling needs
of the employee, room reservations, and clinical
scheduling. The PC will also provide input and
recommendations regarding potential candidates for
employment with each Avalon facility. The PC will
ensure their knowledge of open positions, and other
specific candidate requests as determined by the
leadership of each individual facility.
  • The Program Coordinator will monitor program
operations to remain within budgetary constraints
and guidelines as directed by Regional Vice
President.
  • The PC will demonstrate strong leadership to ensure
positive retention outcomes, expeditious course
scheduling, optimum use of faculty, and resolution
of administrative issues.
  • The Program Coordinator will coordinate the
scheduling of classes, clinicals, and instructors
for each location . The PC will be scheduled for both
classroom and clinical instruction in conjunction
with their administrative duties.
  • The PC will work closely with the Avalon marketing
team to maximize the number of students in each
class.
  • The Program Coordinator will work closely with the
educators in each facility to identify and
incorporate Avalon core values, key policies, and
processes into the CNA program curriculum as much as
possible.
  • Performs other related duties as requested by the
UNAR and Avalon Corporation.
REPORTS TO: The Director of the Utah Nursing Assistant
Registry and the Avalon Regional VP

QUALIFICATIONS:
The program coordinator must be a registered nurse, with
a current, active Utah license to practice; who is in
good standing with the Utah Division of Occupational and
Professional Licensing, with at least two years of
nurs ing experience, at least one of which is in the
provision of long term care facility services caring for
the elderly or the chronically ill of any age, in direct
patient care.
The Program Coordinator must complete a UNAR approved
‘Train the Trainer’ type program or demonstrate
competence to teach students as defined by the UNAR
prior to approval of any training program.
