Description: Mt Ogden Surgery Center is looking of Cert Nursing Asst Mt Ogden Surgery Ctr right now, this job will be placed in Utah. For detail informations about this job opportunity kindly see the descriptions. POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director and general supervision of the Staff Nurse, assit in basic nursing care needs. Is responsible for the care appropriate to t! he ages of the patients served, i.e. Adult and Geriatric. Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs; possesses knowledge of growth and development; and has an understanding of the range of treatment needed for these patient groups.

Key Accountabilities / Competencies:
1. Assist RN with patient care, i.e. vital signs, dietary needs, ambulating, positioning and glucose reading.

2. Assist unit secretary.

3. Assures patient’s rooms are ready for new admit.

4. Coordinates phone communication on unit.

5. Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system and uses the system to report potential safety issues.

6. Escorts and orients patients to rooms.

7. Is available to go to other departments to obtain needed supplies, etc.

8. Keeps personnel protection boxes stocked in patient’s rooms.

9. Performs phlebotomy skills â€" perform! s venipuncture, capillary and urine collections per physician ! orders in a timely manner.

10. Transports patients to and from various hospitals and/or nursing units and upon discharge.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

• Current Nursing Assistant Certification
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Graduate of a formal nurse aid class or one year nurse aide experience in an acute care hospital required.
• Previous CNA or unit secretary experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology required
• Good customer service skills required

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Requires corrected hearing and vision within functional ranges.

Requires frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds and sufficient manual dexterity to operate therapeutic equipment. Must be able to stand for long periods at a time. Good mental and physical health to work for long periods of time! in a highly stressful atmosphere is required. Able to push/pull 150 lbs. as related to patient care.
